Rockphonix Stirchley Now Open

We're excited to announce the launch of our newest Rockphonix location in Stirchley, Birmingham .

Leading the new location is Marcus Mills, the founder of Rockphonix and someone who has spent years helping students discover the confidence, creativity and enjoyment that music can bring. Having built Rockphonix from the ground up, Marcus is now bringing the same approach that has helped hundreds of students learn, perform and progress to the heart of Stirchley.

Rockphonix has always been about making music lessons more engaging, more personal and more relevant to the music people actually want to play. Whether you're picking up an instrument for the first time, returning after a break, or looking to take your playing to the next level, lessons are designed around your goals and interests.

Music Lessons for All Ages and Abilities

Our focus is simple: help students enjoy making music while developing real skills, confidence and creativity along the way.

The new Stirchley location will offer one-to-one lessons across a range of instruments, taught by experienced musicians who understand that every student learns differently.

From young beginners taking their first musical steps through to adults rediscovering a passion for playing, lessons are tailored to the individual. There is no one-size-fits-all approach. Instead, students are encouraged to learn through the music they enjoy and at a pace that works for them.

Worcester Student Showcase Easter 2026

On Saturday 19th April, we brought together around 20 of our students for our Easter Showcase at Spin the Black Circle Cafe—and what a day it turned out to be. The room was packed with energy from the start. Friends, family and fellow students gathered to support a lineup that perfectly captured what Rockphonix is all about: real progress, real confidence, and real music. Looking Ahead

We had performances across vocals, drums and keys, with each student bringing their own personality and sound to the stage. From first-time performers taking those brave initial steps, to more experienced students refining their craft, every performance had something special. One of the highlights was seeing a couple of our mini bands take to the stage—combining guitar, vocals and drums. These moments really showcased what can happen when students move beyond individual lessons and start making music together.

Live performance is a huge part of the Rockphonix journey. It’s where everything comes together—practice turns into expression, and nerves turn into confidence. For many of our students, this was their first time playing in front of an audience. That moment of stepping up, starting the song, and seeing it through is something that sticks with them far beyond the day itself.

Spin the Black Circle was the perfect setting—intimate, welcoming, and full of character. It created a relaxed environment where students could focus on enjoying the experience rather than feeling under pressure. The support from the audience made a massive difference too. Every performance was met with encouragement, applause, and genuine appreciation.

Events like this are a key part of what we do. They give students something to work towards, a chance to share their progress, and an opportunity to experience the excitement of live music. We’re incredibly proud of everyone who took part. Bring on the next one!

Rockphonix Workshop with WF11 Harkaway Scouts

Building confidence, creativity, and teamwork through music

Last night we had the absolute pleasure of running a Rockphonix music workshop with WF11 Harkaway Scouts, and honestly what a group! From the moment we set up, the energy in the room was spot on. Curiosity, excitement, and a willingness to jump in and give things a go...exactly what Rockphonix is all about. The aim of these workshops isn’t perfection, it’s confidence .

We use music as a tool to help young people:

Try something new
Work together
Be heard
Feel proud of what they create

And last night, that happened in buckets. Whether it was picking up an instrument for the first time, keeping time together as a group, or just finding the courage to make some noise, everyone brought something to the room.

Why We Love Working with Local Youth Groups

Workshops like this remind us why Rockphonix exists in the first place. Music has a unique way of bringing people together, no pressure, no judgement, just shared experience. Scouting groups already do incredible work around teamwork, confidence, and life skills. Adding music into that mix just unlocks another layer of creativity and self-expression.

Huge thanks to WF11 Harkaway Scouts for having us in and creating such a welcoming, positive environment. The enthusiasm from the group made the night what it was and we loved every minute of it.
